Protecting Original Design & Creative Integrity

At Lulablues, every pattern, character, and design is thoughtfully created with care, intention, and originality. These guidelines exist to preserve the integrity of our work, ensure respectful use within the handmade community, and clearly outline what is and is not permitted when using Lulablues patterns and brand assets.

All Lulablues designs are protected under copyright and intellectual property laws. By purchasing, downloading, or accessing any Lulablues product, you agree to comply fully with the terms outlined on this page.


Original Designs & Intellectual Property

All crochet patterns, character designs, written instructions, diagrams, visual references, tutorials, and digital materials offered by Lulablues are the exclusive intellectual property of Lulablues.

Purchase of a pattern grants a limited, personal, non‑transferable license to use the pattern for individual crafting purposes only. Ownership of the pattern or finished item does not transfer ownership of the underlying design, structure, or intellectual property.

Any rights not expressly granted remain fully reserved by Lulablues.

Not Permitted:

To protect the originality of our work, the following actions are strictly prohibited

  1. Sharing, forwarding, selling, or redistributing pattern files or instructions
  2. Posting screenshots, photos, scans, or rewritten versions of patterns
  3. Reformatting, translating, republishing, or recreating patterns in any format
  4. Creating derivative patterns, templates, kits, or instructional content
  5. Using Lulablues designs as a base for new digital or physical designs for sale
  6. Claiming Lulablues patterns, characters, or construction methods as original work


Pattern Usage & Finished Items

Lulablues patterns may be used to create finished handmade items under the following conditions

Permitted:

  1. Finished items may be created for personal use, gifting, or limited handmade resale
  2. All items must be entirely handmade by the purchaser
  3. Each listing, display, or social media post must clearly credit:

“Pattern by Lulablues”

The design, structure, and character identity must remain intact. Modifying a finished item does not grant permission to reproduce, document, or resell the pattern in any form.

Not Permitted:

  1. Selling, sharing, or distributing the pattern or instructions
  2. Publishing tutorials, stitch counts, or construction guides
  3. Creating merchandise, templates, printables, or teaching materials
  4. Renaming, rebranding, or altering characters to claim originality
  5. Mass production, factory manufacturing, or outsourced production
  6. Using Lulablues patterns in professional, licensed, or commercial contexts beyond what is explicitly allowed


Digital Patterns: Delivery, Access & Terms

All digital patterns are delivered as secured PDF files and are provided for personal use only. Due to the nature of digital content, all pattern sales are final.

Delivery & Access:

  1. Download links are provided on the thank you page after purchase and within the customer account under “Orders”
  2. Copies are also sent to the email address used at checkout
  3. Files must be accessed using standard PDF readers
  4. Patterns are view only, non‑printable, and non‑editable

PDF editing, annotation, or note taking applications requiring modification permissions are not supported.

Download Limits:

  1. Each file may be downloaded up to three (3) times
  2. Download links are personal and may not be shared
  3. Excessive or suspicious activity may result in revoked access

A one time replacement link may be issued at Lulablues’ discretion with proof of purchase.

Security & Restrictions:

  1. Files include protections against copying, printing, or modification
  2. Files may contain purchaser specific identifiers
  3. Attempts to bypass or alter security features are strictly prohibited

Not Permitted:

  1. Sharing files or download links in any form
  2. Printing, editing, extracting, or converting PDFs
  3. Screenshotting, photographing, scanning, or rewriting pattern content
  4. Posting pattern steps, stitch counts, or instructional visuals
  5. Creating derivative digital products, tutorials, or kits

Any attempt to reproduce pattern content constitutes unauthorized distribution.

Q: How do I access my purchased patterns?
Patterns are available through your purchase email and your account under “Orders.”

Q: Are downloads limited?
Yes. Each file may be downloaded up to three (3) times.

Q: Can I share my download link or file?
No. Download links and files are strictly personal.

Q: Can I print or edit my pattern?
No. All files are secured and view‑only.

Q: What if my download fails?
Please contact support with proof of purchase for review.


Brand Name, Characters & Visual Identity

The Lulablues name, logos, character names, designs, and visual identity are the exclusive property of Lulablues.

Not Permitted:

  1. Using Lulablues branding in a way that suggests partnership or endorsement
  2. Marketing products as approved or affiliated with Lulablues
  3. Creating “Lulablues‑inspired” collections for sale
  4. Using characters or names to promote a shop, business, or monetized content
  5. Altering or modifying logos, characters, or visual elements

Permitted Attribution:

You may display finished handmade items online with proper credit:
“Pattern by Lulablues”

No branding, licensing, or promotional rights are granted beyond attribution.


Content Sharing & Social Media Guidelines

Permitted:

  1. Work‑in‑progress photos without instructional details
  2. Finished item photography
  3. Behind‑the‑scenes content that does not reproduce pattern content

Not Permitted:

  1. Posting full or partial pattern pages
  2. Instructional screenshots or videos
  3. Step‑by‑step recreations of the pattern
  4. Use of Lulablues designs in commercial or digital media


Plagiarism Protection & Enforcement

Lulablues actively protects its intellectual property to preserve the originality and value of its work.

Unauthorized use includes, but is not limited to:

  1. Copying or selling patterns or derivatives
  2. Creating kits, tutorials, or instructional products
  3. Claiming ownership of Lulablues designs or methods
  4. Misrepresenting affiliation, endorsement, or partnership

Enforcement actions may include DMCA takedowns, platform reporting, access termination, and legal remedies.


Rights to User‑Created Finished Items

Finished handmade items belong to their creator. However, ownership of a finished item does not grant rights to the pattern or design.

Limitations:

  1. Finished items may not be reverse engineered into patterns
  2. Modified items do not create licensable designs
  3. Instructional or digital derivatives are prohibited

Promotional Use:

By sharing images or content of finished items, you grant Lulablues a non‑exclusive, royalty‑free license to use such content for promotional purposes, with creator credit where reasonably possible.


General Terms, Updates & Contact Information

Lulablues reserves the right to update or revise these guidelines at any time. Continued use of patterns or digital content constitutes acceptance of the most current version.

Users are responsible for complying with all applicable laws. Lulablues is not responsible for lost or corrupted files after successful delivery.
